I believe I can fly – Fuji X-T2 and Motocross

We photographers often stay to long in our comfort zone.

In my case this means photographing landscapes and wildlife.

But leaving the comfort zone and shooting something we normally don’t often has very positive effects on our overall photographic capabilities.

I went out to a motocross race the other day to get even more familiar with the new AF system the new Fuji X-T2 offers.

After the dogs this was the second chance to test the new AF system and see how it performs.

For motocross I choose to set the AF-tracking to option 4, suddenly appearing subjects:

I shot mostly wide open with Auto-ISO and manually set the shutter between 1/250 – 1/1000.

When shooting with 1/1000 I switched the OIS off, otherwise I left it on.

I took 3 lenses with me: XF 100-400, XF 55-200, XF 18-135.

The 100-400, being the fastest AF lens, was a joy to use.

The two other lenses performed very well too, even if the AF performance of e.g. the 55-200 is told to be quite slow. But together with the X-T2 the results were really very good.

All shots are handheld!

All I can say is that I am very impressed with the results!
