Panorama of Groningen’s Rainbow with X-Pro1
On the northwest edge of the city of Groningen, at the Reitdiep, is the new marina “Reitdiep” located.
The color beauty of the Rainbow house in the marina, close to Reitdiephaven, attracted my sense to captured.
It was dark, cold in the frozy night. It made me difficult to set up my X-Pro1 without hand gloves.
But having a X-Pro1 with Samyang 12mm f2 as its companion was even more challenging, since we need to set the focus manually in the dark. Samyang 12mm f/2 has no motor to focus. Taking the advantage of focus-peaking feature in my X-Pro1 to assist and help me from this problem. Set the viewfinder as EVF, by switching the EVF selector, which is located in the front part of the camera body, and zoom a bit to see the focus peaking assist.
Featuring the freedom to switch between an optical and electronic viewfinder in X-Pro1, the Hybrid Viewfinder is so intuitive and solve the problem.
Once you got in focus, you may recompose the frame. Put the camera on the sturdy tripod, and it’s ready to go.
As you might see, both the houses and their reflection is so sharp, so you could not imagine that to get this result: it took me a minute to get focus on the dark frozy night with thick hand gloves. But the final results of X-Pro1 above has teased me to get me even more challenging picture.
I plan then to take a panorama shot by having 1o shots and combine all as one later in post processing.
An aperture of f/8 was set fix on my Samyang 12mm f/2 and Sirui tripod had helped me to create several JPG shots. And here is the final results, the panorama view of Reitdiephaven, Groningen, NL.
