Laowa 9mm F2.8 – An ultrawide answer for Fujifilm cameras
There are a few lenses in the ultra-wide area that can be successfully used with a Fujifilm camera. Apart from the XF 10-24mm F4 OIS and the future XF 8-16mm F2.8 WR ultra-wide zoom lens from Fujifilm, the option to use manual focus lenses is worth considering.
Even though for some it may sound difficult to use Manual Focus, the easy part for ultra-wide lenses comes from the immense depth of field at very short focal lengths. Samyang 8mm F2.8 fish-eye and 12mm F2.0 are two examples of lenses that are easy and fun to use.
Jonas Rask made a review of the new Laowa 9mm F2.8, a lens manufactured by the Chinese brand Venus Optics. Being really compact, made of metal, with a detachable lens hood and providing images rich in colours and sharpness, this new Laowa 9mm F2.8 left a very good impression, as you may discover more in this article.
