Premium/ New Year’s Resolutions
Another year has passed, we have entered 2020 and the first thing we would like to do is to thank all of you, our readers, for all your support since the birth of this project. We could not forget all the photographers who made this possible, by sharing with us their stories, their travels, the landscapes they captured, the portraits they’ve made, their whole experience using Fuji equipment and a series of precious tips that we also can put into practice.
Whenever a new year begins, we often think of a set of resolutions for the next 365 days. Everyone knows how it is; we have all done it. Lose weight, buy a new car, keep good health, take a trip, write a book. If we think about it, many of these items are more like wishes than resolutions. “And what does all of this have to do with photography?” – you ask. We will reach this point later. But first, let’s think why systematically every year the resolutions made in the previous year fail. There are two main reasons why this happens:
- We formulate wishes instead of resolutions;
- Resolutions are often defined only in terms of “goals” to be achieved.
Let’s take this second reason and look at why the goals are often not achieved. When we think of a goal, however well defined and concrete, it is a point of arrival, a purpose to be achieved. And we are at the starting point, not knowing the way to get there. CONTINUE READING…
