Fujifilm X Raw Studio: how does it compare with Lightroom?
After the release of Fujifilm X Raw Studio for Apple computers at the end of the last year, now this application is available for Microsoft Windows, as well.
It’s a software that enables you to develop Fujifilm RAW files and it is free to use, in both Mac and Windows versions (the Windows version can be downloaded HERE) and the most interesting part is that it doesn’t rely so much on your computer processing abilities (fast processor, or a robust graphic card), because Fujifilm thought, what better way to process their own RAW files, but by using the powerful X Pro processor inside your camera.
You need to connect your camera to your PC via the USB cable, launch the application and the camera hardware will do the RAW conversion, sending the results to your PC.
For the moment, only GFX 50S, X-T2, X-Pro2, X100F and X-H1 are on the list of supported camera models. But how does it compare with Lightroom? Is it faster, are the JPEG files looking better after the X Raw Studio processing? Alessandro Michelazzi prepared a video that will explain the differences:
